12V power inverter circuit using 555 timer

This 12V power inverter circuit can be used to power small power devices that need a 240 volts . This 12V power inverter circuit is very useful when you want to use a 240 volts consumer powered by a 12 volts car battery .

In contrast to the usual feedback oscillator type of inverter, the oscillator of this inverter use a 555 timer connected as an astable multivibrator that is separate from the output stage, which allows easy adjustment of the oscillator frequency to suit different applications.
The output of the 555 timer drives the base of T1 and T2 transistors . The wattage of this 12 volts inverter circuit depend on the driver transistors and the output transformer used . The output of this circuit will provide a 240v at 50Hz.

DO YOU HAVE THE SIMULATION FOR THIS CIRCUIT AND HAVE TESTED THE CIRCUIT??PLEASE LET ME KNOW..THANKS.

i have the same circuit using TIP41-2 and 2N3055-8 OUTPUT TRANSISTORS WITH 500W.THE LEAD ACID BATTERY IS 12V AND 100AH .CONTACT ME ON +233248828793 OR MAIL ME AND I WILL GIVE YOU MORE CIRCUIT DIAGRAM.AM NVTI GRADUATE TRANINEE

hello can you send me information about your circuit with tip122 and 2n3055 because i'm working on a project and want to use these components but my expected power is 1000W so plzzz plzzzz let me know ur component values so that i can aklter them for high power. bestest regards :)

Well first I don't know about using a tip122 instead of a tip42 but I'm pretty sure you replace the very hard to find tip41 with the 2n3055

Can i use TIP41B or C instead of TIP41A? Will there be any change in output?

Yes you can use TIP41B or TIP41C instead of TIP41A. Difference between this transistors is Collector Emitter Voltage and Collector Base Voltage which is lower at TIP41A.

Sir can i used 24v instead of a 12v? this is center tap transformer?

Transformer used is not a center tap and usually a 555 timer ic supports a maximum voltage of 16V. Without any modification it's not recommended.

What is the maximum ampere your 555 can have?? Thank you very much

Output power is depending on power transistors used in the circuit, in this case Tip41 and Tip 42. In our case current is limited to 1A.

Sir, pls how do you charge the 12volts battery used to power this inverter. Thanks

This circuit is a power inverter circuit, so from an 10 to 16V input will provide a 240V output.

sir, what is the R3 ? i cant se it clearly.

100R - 100 ohms

hi i want to ask you why the frequency are not stable ?

Hello, i want to ask something, i build this circuit, but i not the 2200u capacitor and then I put transformer 12v-230v with 500ma only.. When i run this circuit i got output around 50-80 voltage only.. what the problem?

Measure the voltage at the input of transformer

If you tried with 12 volt transformer then try with 6 voult input because the the voltage range wood be low

i can not get the frequency 50 to 60 hz,it is in khz.how i reduce the frequency plz help

does it make power dissipitation?

I build this circuit but i used 4700microfarads/16v and i used 4amp transformer but it is not working please help me out

Pls what are the voltage values of C1 and C4?
