PCB123 Printed Circuit Design Software

PCB123 is a printed circuit board design software provided and designed by Sunstone and it can be used for free .
In the old version PCB123 has contained two part one for circuit drawing and other part for printed circuit board design , in the actual version you have both : circuit editor and pcb editor .

When you start the PCB123 application the software start with printed circuit board window , so if you are not familiar with it is a little complicated to start a new project without to read the documentation.
When I start the PCB123 program I didn’t saw the schematic editor window and I thinked that the software was downgraded .
If take a look at the software the windows of the software looks like in the targetPCB software but the options from the menus are different .
The quality of drawing is very good for both windows ( circuit editor and pcb editor ) .
The PCB123 is very easy to use and it has a loots of features from circuit drawing , netslist import-export , autorouter to place order option.
Also you have an option for 3D view , but the 3D view of this software it is not like in the KiCAD, where you can see the board and all components . If you select 3D view in the PCB123 you will see the PCB with traces , holes and labels .
This pcb design has many features , but within all features you will see that some of most important options that you will need are missing (for example Auto annotate ) .
But with or without some features , the PCB123 can be an low cost alternative for other printed circuit board design software .
Also Sunstone has included in the installer package a huge user manual (around 170 pages ) .
Using this pcb design software you can create printed circuits boards without to draw any circuit in the schematic editor , you can select and place all footprints an than route all components .
The software can be downloaded from the Sunstone website (if you access pcb123.com website you will find it ), where you can find many other useful informations and video tutorials .
