TDA8560 class B power amplifier circuit design project

A very simple class B power amplifier circuit can be designed using TDA8560 audio IC. The TDA8560 amplifier has an internally fixed voltage gain for excellent channel balance . This class B power amplifier circuit will provide a dual 40 watt output power . This audio amplifier IC is specially designed for car audio applications.
A diagnostic facility senses distortion, load short-circuit and temperature . At onset of distortion or temperature >150 °C, the diagnostic output signal can be used to reduce the input drive via a sound processor or DC volume control. For load short-circuit or output short-circuit to ground or supply, the outputs are switched-off until the short-circuit is removed.
This amplifier will produce 40 watt per channel output power on a 2 ohms load and 25 watt per channel output power on a 4 ohms load .
This audio amplifier electronic project must be powered from a 14.4 volts DC power supply .

Comments

Is it possible to tell the difference between a class a and class b amp just by looking at the circuit diagram.

Are many differences but more important is that theoretically, a class A amp can achieve 50% efficiency with inductive output coupling or 25% with capacitive coupling and a Class B amplifiers are subject to “crossover” distortion, but efficiency runs theoretically as high as 78.5%.
